BU500 works well from 28MHz, but in such an interconnection a good bandpass filter is also needed between BU500 and power amplifier. This applies to 28MHz and 50MHz IF use , that's why HiDes decided to write 100...1300MHz in data specification.

What improvements have been made in the circuit diagram and PCB compared to old versions V06 :

1.  Better cooling to provide permanently more output power, up to 2W  -  larger milled heat sinks

2.  the new 1.7W version has built-in switch for externly GPS         or         internal TCXO  Clock

3.  More output power by removing unsuitable Bandpass filters

4.   An attenuator installed on the IF port to allow more input power - now up to 200mW
To have the sensitive version ( for Adalm Pluto - without this attenuator )  with -15dBm input , you have to order V01

5.   Reverse Vcc polarity protection

6.   Operating voltage has been increased  ( 9....16V )  , Switching power supply replaced

7.   Nicer output HF Spectrum - better LO Freq. suppression

Output Port - Testdata

Measured by OE7DBH , Graphic by ON6JM

Typical test report - data sheet of a delivered  BU500  UPconverter

Mirror frequency suppression for 2m IF Signals....

Mirror frequency suppression for 70cm IF Signals...

The higher the BU500  IF signal frequency, the better the test data and no Bandpass Filter is necessary !!
Excellently suitable for IC-9700 in satellite working mode
(  IC-9700  TX in 23cm band         and        IC-9700 RX in 70cm band with 70cm output LNB  )
(    QO-100   LNB with Signal output in 70cm band available from:     9a6rzn@gmail.com    )
